Ted’s mission is giving kids the opportunity to thrive in the innovation era. He produced and funded the Sundance-acclaimed documentary Most Likely to Succeed, screened by ten thousand communities around the globe. His top-selling book What School Could Be shares insights and inspiration from schools across all fifty U.S. states. In 2018, Ted received the prestigious NEA “Friend of Education” Award. Ted, a Partner Emeritus with Charles River Ventures, was ranked by Business 2.0 as the top-performing venture capitalist in the U.S. for the years 1995-1999. In 2012, he was appointed by President Obama to represent the U.S. at the United Nations General Assembly, focusing on youth potential and leadership. Ted earned a PhD in Engineering from Stanford University and his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary, receiving High Honors in Physics and English. Josh Reppun, born on Oahu, Hawaiʻi has been a chef, hotel manager, teacher (17 years) and specialist at the Apple Store. Over the past five years he has partnered with Ted Dintersmith to bring Most Likely to Succeed, What School Could Be, the Innovation Playlist and WhatSchoolCouldBe.org to the Hawaiian Islands. Along the way he has supported a public, private and charter school movement to highlight and move forward innovation, creativity and imagination in Hawaii’s schools. Josh is also the Executive Producer of a new film titled, The Innovation Playlist, which you can find at WhatSchoolCouldBe.org. He is also the host of the What School Could Be in Hawaiʻi podcast, located at MLTSinHawaii.com. Josh’s daughter, Emma is a first grade teacher in Marin County, California. His wife, Cheryl Oncea is the Publisher of Hawaiʻi Business Magazine.
